Namaste from India😊 This is my attempt to bring you simple, quick and delicious recipes from India and around the globe. Kitchen Stories also brings variety of popular Havyaka cuisines from Uttara Kannada-Karnataka. A number of traditional Indian vegetarian recipes anyone can cook. There are enormous amount of recipes cooked everyday with minimum number of ingredients and in lesser time. However, a lot of these recipes aren't made very often nowadays. But I would most definitely like to keep the traditional recipes alive which bring back loving memories of my Gran and Nan, my childhood, those forgotten uncles and aunts of neighbouring houses, sweet people of my pretty little village who loved me and fed me wholeheartedly when I was a kid...and most importantly, it makes my mom happy :-)

I get these old recipes from my mother who cannot contain her excitement while explaining it to me! And I realised how much do we leave behind unknowingly! My mother thought that I wouldn't be interested in these old recipes because we are all 'modern generation' kids and we are more interested in eating exotic dishes, colourful salads, continental breakfasts, quinoa & granola bars, speciality fruits and vegetables, fine dining and all those things in the never ending list! These are all the things I have tried and tasted of course.. But, nothing beats mom's food, ghar ka khana, desi swad. And I could never forget my roots. There are gazillion recipes and videos now on the internet for most of the dishes. It's a great thing and I love it because it will always be there whenever I want. Likewise this is my attempt to keep the memories of all those people and traditions alive in fusion with modern food and lifestyle. Because one day when I grow old and retire, these memories will be one of my invaluable assets. Happy reading and happy cooking😊
